Courtney Brooks is an Atlanta-based independent curator, multifaceted visual artist, muralist, founder of Journey of a Black Girl and owner of CBROOKS GALLERY. Originally hailing from Denver, Colorado, Brooks earned her BFA in Digital Design from American InterContinental University in 2010. With over a decade of experience, she has provided creative direction for interactive art events and curates solo and group exhibitions throughout the Atlanta area. Brooks is a staunch advocate for all creatives, proudly identifying herself as a visual artist first. She is a proud arts educator of K-8th grade students and community collaborator. Her art practice and curation is influenced by her spiritual journey, sharing narratives that reflect , celebrate and inspire self identity, joy, healing and wellness in the Black community.
